This year’s Men’s Mental Health event was held on Saturday 21st February in The Highway Inn and was a truly meaningful and impactful day for everyone involved.
There was something special in bringing men together in a safe, supportive environment — a space where they could talk openly, listen to one another, and simply be present without judgement. The honesty and connection shared throughout the day highlighted just how important these opportunities are within our community.
The Connected Minds Youth Committee want to extend their sincere thanks to everyone who attended. Each person’s presence helped create an atmosphere that was genuine, supportive, and lasting — something many will carry with them well beyond the event itself.
This event would not have been possible without the support and generosity of those who gave their time and energy. Lisburn Safe facilitated the Walk & Talk, creating a relaxed and welcoming space for conversation. Ethan from Kings Barber Studio kindly volunteered his time, offering haircuts that left many feeling refreshed and uplifted. Thanks also goes to Sorcha Eastwood for her support and for helping to highlight the importance of men’s mental health, both locally and beyond.
Creative elements throughout the day added further depth, with Joel sharing his woodworking and Andrew from Moulding Minds showcasing his clay work while also sharing his personal story. Finally, a big thank you to the Highway Inn Bar & Kitchen for their warm hospitality, excellent food, and for providing a space where people could come together comfortably.
Events like this are a powerful reminder of what community truly means — people coming together to support one another with understanding and without judgement.
