Everyone at The Resurgam Trust are delighted to hear that the Manager of our Social Enterprise The Highway Inn Bar & Kitchen, Emma Robb, has been named as a Medallist of the Order of the British Empire (BEM) in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List. Emma received this highly esteemed award for services to the community in Lisburn during Covid-19.

Philip Dean, Chairman of Resurgam Trust said, “ To date through our Highway Inn Soup Kitchen we have produced and delivered over 12,000 meals and Emma has been instrumental in coordinating this much needed service. Our hope is to maintain this assistance for the longer term especially with much talk recently of further lockdowns and restrictions being placed on people. On the ground we are hearing how much this extra support with food is appreciated and needed. Well done to Emma on her much-deserved recognition “

On the news of receiving a British Empire Medal Emma said, “I am greatly honoured to receive such a prestigious award however I must stress this award is very much recognition of the entire team effort across the Resurgam Family since the outbreak of Covid- 19. We have a fabulous team within the Resurgam Trust and indeed The Highway Inn”

MP for Lagan Valley Rt Hon. Sir Jeffrey Donaldson said “I am delighted that Emma has received this honour which is truly deserved. This is testimony to the hard work and community spirit displayed by Emma and her team at the Resurgam Trust and the Highway Inn during the COVID-19 pandemic.
